Overview
We partner with community organizations, schools, and universities to provide unique tools and services that support a variety of esports events and programs.
To help ensure these experiences are engaging and effective, we maintain a virtual Playtester League where participants test new and popular games, contribute valuable feedback, and take part in fun, online sessions moderated by screened and trained Esports Coaches.
Featured Games
We support the following cross-platform game titles, but primarily focus on testing STEM Challenges on Minecraft.
Note: All game titles are free-to-play except Minecraft which may require a separate purchase or online subscription to play.
Schedule
The Playtester League has been updated to be an ongoing experience that allows participants to connect and play on their own schedules. There will be seasonal breaks and periods of downtime, but we aim to keep playtesting active and available as we grow. Each month, we will focus on new, updated, and popular gaming experiences to provide a variety of testing opportunities.
Eligibility
Open to youth ages 13–17 (or as verifiably authorized by a parent/guardian)
Must have a reliable internet connection
Must have current generation gaming console or gaming PC
Must have any required online services to play multiplayer
Must have a free Discord account
Must provide feedback on games and game modes
Must act in accordance with ESOGA's Code of Conduct
Selection Process
In order to become a Playtester, an application must be completed and approved. Completing this registration form does not guarantee selection. All applications are reviewed based on testing needs, available space, and applicant eligibility. Selected applicants will be contacted by email with further instructions to complete the onboarding process. Applicants who are not selected may reapply in the future. Previous members of ESOGA's Esports League and returning Playtesters are not required to complete a 'New Member Interview' if selected.
New Member Interview
If selected, new Playtesters and their parent or legal guardian must participate in a brief online meeting before officially joining the Playtester League. After the interview is completed and application approved, invitations to the private Discord server and game servers will be provided.
